JD Finally Gives Up

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

On JD's website he finally posted his goodbye.  It is the end of an era in Arizona.  There is no doubt that JD will head straight to K Street to make his fortune as a lobbyist for big oil or drug companies.  After all, Tom Delay and Rick Santorum did their best to stack the management of those K Street firms with loyal Republicans.

Team JD Gets Ready to Stack the Deck

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

According to the AZRepublic, the Republican Party is rounding up 72 Republican volunteers to train in the event the Arizona Superior Court rules for a hand count. The Republicans will then swoop in as election workers, trained and selected by JD, to compare the signatures of voters casting early ballots with the signatures on their registration cards.

The special training the JD Republicans receive will include identifying who won the vote before verifying the signature.  This special training will allow them to weed out all those pesky early ballots in his opponants favor.

Early mail and election day votes cast in District 5 number about 150,000.  This vote shows JD losing by 4% of the vote.  The JD camp told the AZ Republic they think there are another 100,000 provisional and absentee ballots yet to be counted.  Nobody knows the number of these ballots left, but if this were the case, JD would have to flip his 46% to 50% loss, to a 53% to 47% lead in these ballots.  Considering the votes taken by the Libertarian candidate, that ratio will probably have to be higher.  That's not likely.

JD Refuses to Step Down

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

Even with the early voting tabulated, JD is a loser.  This from the Maricopa County Elections office:

US Rep Dst 5
100% (250 of 250) precincts reporting
Vote for 1 EV VOTES TOTAL VOTES
REP - HAYWORTH, J.D. 3537 65122
DEM - MITCHELL, HARRY 3241 71077
LBT - SEVERIN, WARREN 166 4620

It is just like JD to deny his opponent his glorious election day in the sun.  What a baby. They will probably have to have the military drag him out of his lofty Congressional office.

Judge Sentences Man Linked to Ambramoff

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

The NY Times reports that David Safian, a White House Budget Official, that lied to investigators about his relationship to convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, has been sentenced to 18 months in jail.

Judge Paul Freedman of the Federal District Court admonished the convicted liar at sentencing.  His remarks reflect the publics growing disgust with the current culture of corruption in Washington.  According to the Times:

“He came to work in an environment that has become, frankly, more and more corrupt,” Judge Friedman said in announcing Mr. Safavian’s sentence, which was half of the three-year prison term sought by the Justice Department.

“It’s become corrupted by money,” Judge Friedman added. “You’ve literally got lobbyists sitting in Congressional offices writing legislation. That’s what’s going on.”

Mr. Safavian’s crimes, he said, were a “classic case of abuse of the public’s trust.”

JD Hayworth, this one's for you:  Bad boys, bad boys…whacha gonna do…..whacha gonna do when they come for you?

The Press Continues to Give JD a Pass

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

The somewhat mainstream press still continues to give JD a break….an incumbent benefit of the doubt, if you will.  On Monday, Sep 25 in an article titled Hayworth, Mitchell trade barbs in ad campaigns,  The Phoenix Business Journal wrote:

Hayworth has denied any wrongdoing in the Abramoff affair. Abramoff, a Republican lobbyist, pleaded guilty to fraud charges related to under-the-table fees charged to Indian tribes and casinos. Hayworth received campaign donations from those tribes and Abramoff. He donated direct money from Abramoff to charity.

What they left out was the kicking and whining that occurred in the JD camp before letting go of the money.

After extolling JD for “breaking away” from the sinking President Bush, in a plea by conservative pawn, John Gizzie, of the questionable internet rag Human Events online, writes:

Inevitably, Hayworth is asked if breaking with the President and a number of his fellow Republicans in Congress on a volatile issue feels a bit uncomfortable. “No, it doesn’t, because I’m not a rubber stamp,” he replies. Could there be any more cogent reason for conservatives to help plain-speaking J.D. Hayworth?

Yes, JD needs help.  All this after pointing out that JD has a lifetime conservative “rating” of 97%.  What a shame it will be to loose such good little soldier.
