The Press Continues to Give JD a Pass

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

The somewhat mainstream press still continues to give JD a break….an incumbent benefit of the doubt, if you will.  On Monday, Sep 25 in an article titled Hayworth, Mitchell trade barbs in ad campaigns,  The Phoenix Business Journal wrote:

Hayworth has denied any wrongdoing in the Abramoff affair. Abramoff, a Republican lobbyist, pleaded guilty to fraud charges related to under-the-table fees charged to Indian tribes and casinos. Hayworth received campaign donations from those tribes and Abramoff. He donated direct money from Abramoff to charity.

What they left out was the kicking and whining that occurred in the JD camp before letting go of the money.

After extolling JD for “breaking away” from the sinking President Bush, in a plea by conservative pawn, John Gizzie, of the questionable internet rag Human Events online, writes:

Inevitably, Hayworth is asked if breaking with the President and a number of his fellow Republicans in Congress on a volatile issue feels a bit uncomfortable. “No, it doesn’t, because I’m not a rubber stamp,” he replies. Could there be any more cogent reason for conservatives to help plain-speaking J.D. Hayworth?

Yes, JD needs help.  All this after pointing out that JD has a lifetime conservative “rating” of 97%.  What a shame it will be to loose such good little soldier.

JD Officially Corrupt

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

JD earns a dishhonorable mention in an article citing corrupt congress members.  The full dishonorable mention list in a report published by the non-profit legal watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, "Beyond DeLay: The 20 Most Corrupt Members of Congress (and five to watch)" is outlined on their website: Beyond DeLay.

The full report expounds on JD's corrupt dealings with Abramoff, JD using his PAC money illegally to hire his family members, and how JD ripped off Indian community.  If you dare, read the full report on JD here.  Below are some excerpts:

J.D. Hayworth is a sixth-term member of Congress, representing Arizona’s 5th district. His ethics issues stem from his relations with Jack Abramoff and the hiring of his wife to run his political action committee.

Connections to Jack Abramoff

Rep. Hayworth is one of the “top tier” representatives allegedly under investigation in relation to the Abramoff case, mainly due to the large number of donations to his campaign and political action committee, TEAM PAC, from Abramoff-related Indian tribes. More damaging than the donations, Rep. Hayworth used Mr. Abramoff’s skyboxes five times without reporting the costs in his Federal Election Commission filings. Rep. Hayworth’s failure to report the skyboxes as campaign contributions violated federal election law.

Employment of Mary Hayworth

Since 1999, Rep. Hayworth’s wife, Mary, has been the sole paid employee of TEAM PAC. In that time, according to the most recent TEAM PAC disbursements, Ms. Hayworth has collected $145,212 in fees. Given that the PAC’s bookkeeping is farmed out to an accounting firm, the KAL Group in California, Ms. Hayworth’s role in the PAC is unclear. In addition, $83,000 of the money in the PAC came from Abramoff-related donations. If Rep. Hayworth has been using his PAC to pay money to his wife for their personal enrichment, then it may be a violation of House rules.

Local Republicans Bail on JD

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, there are some big-name local Republicans who no longer endorse JD Hayworth.  Some of the local Republicans that have bailed on JD include former Tempe Mayor Neil Guiliano, former Scottsdale Mayor Sam Campana, Phoenix City Councilman Tom Simplot and Tempe City Council members Barbara Carter and Ben Arredondo.

Hayworth's own 5th district is mostly Republican and includes the areas of Scottsdale, Tempe, Fountain Hills and Ahwatukee.  Could this be the trend of the voters as well?

Hayworth also takes the hard-line (bordering racist) approach on immigration claiming his opponent is weak.  Most of Republicans that have fled the JD camp say his far-right extreme views are hurting his campaign.

As a result of JD's loss of local support, the Washington Republicans have taken on the task of fundraising for needy Republicans , like JD.

According to The Hill, the feisty Republicans that swept the house in 1994 are in need of some cash:

Republicans in the historic Class of ’94, led by Rep. Phil English (Pa.), rallied for their vulnerable classmates last week, raising a shade under $300,000 during an event at the Capitol Hill Club on Thursday……

The event benefited Republican Reps. Charles Bass (N.H.), Brian Bilbray (Calif.), Steve Chabot (Ohio), Barbara Cubin (Wyo.) J.D. Hayworth (Ariz.), Sue Kelly (N.Y.) and Ron Lewis (Ky.)…..

The historic Class of 1994 is comprised of those Republican candidates who swept to power in the GOP’s landslide victory that year to unseat a Democratic majority that had presided over the House since 1954. The current Republican majority faces a serious challenge this November.

So next time you see JD on the corner, unkempt and holding a sign that says "God Bless", throw him a penny for his thoughts, because apparently that's all they are worth.

Hey JD! Learn to Spell, Dumbass!

Friday, September 15th, 2006

In numerous email press releases and even on his own issues page, JD has misspelled Islamofascist as Islamofacist.  How can he even portend he knows what it means when he can't spell it?  F-A-S-C-I-S-T  .  Quit leaving out the "S", you dumbass!  I'd like to think a Congressman that is supposed to represent me is at least as smart as your average 12th grader.

While we are at it, the automatic audio on your house home page is incredibly annoying.

JD Uses 9/11 to Promote Propaganda

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

In classic, dense JD fashion, JD defiles the memory of those that suffered in the 9/11 tragedy by pushing the Bush agenda buzzword "Islamofacist" to refer to the perpetrators.  In a email put out on September 13, the JD camp states:

The Islamofacists' attack on September 11th showed the depraved lengths to which our enemies will go to destroy us and our way of life.

What the heck is an Islamofascist (spelling corrected here)?  Wickipedia defines fascism as such:

Fascism is a radical political ideology that combines elements of corporatism, authoritarianism, nationalism, militarism, anti-anarchism, anti-communism and anti-liberalism.

So, this means that the Al Qaeda are corporatists (what, do they own stock in Starbucks?), they are authoritarians (ok, perhaps), nationalists (they have no nation), militaristic (yes), anti-anarchism/commi/liberal (no, don't think so).  I guess 1 and a half out of 5 is good enough for the Republican Party to latch on to…..especially since they are becoming the Fascists.

JD would look good with a pencil-thin moustache and a riding crop…..
